Growing up in El Paso, Texas, I was surrounded by a melting pot of cultures and artistic influences. I attended New Mexico State University for Costume Design and have been working as an artist professionally for a decade.
From an early age, I found myself captivated by the world of tattoos and how art could be made to last forever on skin. Our grocery store carried black and grey Chicano-style temporary tattoos that looked “real”. When we were kids, my brother and I would spend most of our summers at my aunt’s house with our two cousins while our parents were at work and I would take the temporary tattoos over and set up shop in the bathroom with the three of them in line and a stack of wet paper towels and give them tattoos.
As an artist, I have dedicated my life to honing my skills and exploring various mediums and nothing has ever felt more right than tattooing, especially handpoking. My personal style when it comes to drawing has been greatly influenced by Tim Burton and Shel Silverstein. Their ability to create whimsical yet thought-provoking art has shaped my artistic journey in tattooing.
As a tattoo artist in Austin, I am grateful to be part of this thriving community. I am constantly inspired by the diverse range of ideas, stories, and emotions that my clients bring to me. The positive energy that surrounds tattooing is unlike anything and is extremely fulfilling.
When I am not tattooing, I am getting an iced Toasted Miso latté from Desnudo, talking about ghosts, hanging out at Uncommon Objects, riding my bike to Barton Springs and hanging out with my beautiful dog, Karma and my partner, Luke!
